I started in PHP and moved to C# and .NET. For the last four years I have led teams of five, first at a wholesaler and then at an insurer, alongside a sports wholesaler that has been a client since 2003.

For the past year I have not written the code by hand. I read it, and I correct the logic when it is wrong.

LEAF, below, is what that year produced.

What I built

In production since August 2025 at one farm.

Subscriptions, weekly packing lists, invoicing, direct debit and bank reconciliation, for my wife's farm in Oirschot.

A hundred and fifty working days and around 235,000 lines of C#, half of it tests, all of it written by AI under my direction. .NET 10 Blazor Server, SQL Server, Azure.

Two decades of .NET, and one site before it

Most recently lead developer at a.s.r., and before that at Carel Lurvink and Schreuders Sport. Earlier, solution architect at Aon, and four years at Sitecore in sales engineering, consulting, then as lead developer on the Email Experience Manager team.

LEAF is the second system I have built alone. The first was SingLouder, an ecommerce site selling karaoke recordings, with thirty-five musicians contributing from their bedrooms. The site went up in 1997 and the company ran from 1999 until 2007, when Napster and what followed it ended the market.
